Meet the Author of this book
D. G Tolliver

As the youngest sister of an older brother, Devin Girtman, who was two years younger than D.G., D.G. developed an interest in basketball and was actively involved in sports in her middle-school and high-school years. Her religious experience began with Mount Moriah missionary Baptist church, a small Baptist church in Winter Park. When she was at the age of eighteen, she shifted her connections to Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church led by Pastor Barnes, where her religion became stronger and took a leading position in her life.

At the age of twenty-six, D.G. already had three sons and three daughters who were devoted mothers. On 31 January 2005, she got married to Henry Thomas Tolliver, and she started living a life full of love and companionship. Over the years, she earned the reputation of being a committed children’s sports mother, who at the same time maintained her family commitments and gained part-time employment as a waitress, which she did for over twenty years.

All of her six children have graduated, and each milestone has become an illustration of how D.G. and her children have stayed strong and enjoyed their life together. Nevertheless, her life experienced a radical change when her favorite husband passed away on 30 August 2024. This experience gave her a new identity as a person of strength, unbending faith, and love that made her an inspirational figure in her life.
